undergrowth.wordpress.com
Undergrowth is my independent blog exploring key questions in environmental communications and digital media. I designed and built the site using WordPress, with a focus on accessible, WCAG3-aligned design, clear information architecture, and visual storytelling.
The project includes original branding, photography, and long-form written content, alongside a short podcast episode featuring an interview with climate journalism expert Dr Nick Payne. I conducted the interview, edited the audio, and produced the episode end-to-end. This project demonstrates my ability to research complex issues, translate them for public audiences, and work across written, visual, and audio formats.
“Just as roots and fungi connect, sustain and sometimes strangle the forest, so does the undergrowth of digital media for environmental communications.
So, let’s get digging and find out – what is under all that growth?”

woodward engineering capability statement
I designed and produced a professional capability statement for Woodward Engineering in response to a client design brief. This involved editing existing content and writing new copy to improve clarity, structure, and audience readability, while maintaining technical accuracy and brand alignment.
This project highlights my skills in professional copywriting, document design, and adapting language for industry-specific audiences.

Menstrual cup advertisment
A creative project developed to explore ethical and inclusive approaches to menstrual advertising. I researched contemporary menstrual product campaigns and stigma surrounding menstruation communication, then developed the creative concept, copy, and visual design for a fictional brand.
This work demonstrates concept development, audience research, and values-led creative decision-making.

“a hand for the land” – short film
I acted as producer for a group project creating a documentary highlighting the Melbourne Pollinator Corridor. I pitched the project to the founder, coordinated filming and production logistics, and liaised with academics to organise and conduct interviews for inclusion in the film.
I supported and coordinated group work, planning, filming, and post-production, with editing completed to a professional standard using DaVinci Resolve.

Tambora & Son Dance Academy photography
While volunteering as a dance teacher on the Galapagos Islands, I photographed student performances for families and staff. I edited and distributed the images for use across community communications and social media, supporting engagement and visibility for the school. This experience was a wonderful opportunity to develop my skills working in cross-cultural contexts and hone my Spanish.
